Team members of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel participated in the 2022 Summer of Yawa’ giving campaign to help raise over $57,000 for local nonprofits.
Throughout July, team members were encouraged to donate to organizations that are making an impact in the community. Team member donations totaled $28,762 in the campaign, which were then matched dollar-for-dollar by the Tribe, bringing the total donations to $57,524.
The nonprofits that were supported in the second annual Summer of Yawa’ were:
- Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California: $14,079
- Making Hope Happen Foundation: $5,420
- San Bernardino Symphony Association: $3,555
- Strong Hearted Native Women Coalition: $5,708
