In March, CTE Public Service-BIA Wildland Fire Academy students from Sherman High School visited the San Manuel Fire Department (SMFD). During this daylong field trip, the students participated in hands-on activities led by the SMFD team. They learned how three different apparatuses are deployed based on the location of fires; saw first-hand how SMFD uses goats in fire prevention; participated in four different exercises, learning proper techniques; and connected with Team Members, who educated them about the various careers paths in the fire services industry.
