We support education, self-determination for all, community development—primarily in our ancestral lands and we focus on the development of opportunities for Native nations and causes across the country.

Inspiring Our Future Through Education

Across all we do, we believe that education is the key to creating paths to a better future. Each generation has a responsibility for their actions that will have an impact on seven generations from now. When our family reflects on the impact of our choices, we hope they will say that our investment in education and native-led organizations has advanced Indian Country and has lifted up the communities around us.

Funding Areas

  1. Support Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programming in local K-12 schools (public, private and charter).
  2. Support after-school programming to help students reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
  3. Fund scholarship programs for high school and college students in need of financial assistance for tuition and education-related expenses.
  4. Support college access programs to expand education opportunities for underrepresented students to prepare them to enter higher education.
  5. Aid college and career readiness programs to prepare students for post-secondary education or training that can result in better job opportunities.
  6. Support community-based arts and music programming.

Empowering Lives

We partner with community-based organizations, native-led organizations, and local agencies that stand up for those who need basic services, including food.

Funding Areas

  1. Support programs that provide basic needs to underserved communities and those at-risk.
  2. Support case management services and housing programs to address and prevent homelessness.
  3. Aid nonprofit organizations developing new strategies and competencies to increase their organizational capacity.
  4. Support programming efforts that increase the quality of life for senior citizens.
  5. Support projects that develop, preserve and/or rehabilitate accessible transitional housing.
  6. Assist nonprofit organizations that provide accessible civil legal aid.
  7. Support career pathway programs through workforce development and training opportunities.

Reinforcing Healthy and Resilient Communities

We partner with community-based organizations, native-led organizations, and local agencies that uplift and support the development and resilience of our communities.

Funding Areas

  1. Support direct healthcare services; including education, prevention and disease management.
  2. Support mental and behavioral health programs and services.
  3. Support programs and services that offer support to victims of domestic violence.
  4. Support programs and services that provide direct support to foster youth and abused and neglected children.
  5. Support programs that promote active and healthy lifestyles through physical activity and nutrition.
  6. Support disaster response and relief efforts that strengthen communities.
  7. Support emergency services and public safety programs.
  8. Programs and services directed to promote resiliency and support the health and well-being of our veterans and active-duty members, along with military families.
  9. Conservation efforts and wildlife and environmental education.

*San Manuel Cares prohibits the funding of individual recreational teams and leagues.

Preserving Cultural Traditions and Empowering Indian Country

We take pride in our heritage and rich cultural history. San Manuel’s unique culture and history includes teaching our community the sacrifices of our ancestors, and what defines and sustains us today.

Across Indian Country, our shared heritage, values, struggles and triumphs form bonds that cannot be broken. We work best when we work together to ensure a bright, prosperous future for all indigenous peoples.

Funding Areas

  1. Support revitalization and preservation of traditional language for Tribal communities.
  2. Assist programs that support cultural education through storytelling, traditional art and documentaries.
  3. Support cultural gatherings, heritage celebrations, cultural centers and tribal museums.
  4. Support programs providing direct services for missing and murdered Indigenous persons.
  5. Support for repatriation work that includes maintaining artifacts.
