SMBMI Donates To Make-A-Wish Foundation & A.T.L.A.S. Program

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and San Manuel Casino recently partnered with the Highland and San Bernardino communities as well as Tribal Citizens and team members to collect items for Make-a-Wish Foundation Orange County & Inland Empire and San Bernardino County Unified School District’s Access to Learning for All Students (A.T.L.A.S.) program.

More than 5,300 items will be donated to the two organizations, including 500 full-sized tubes of name-brand toothpaste, 300 full-sized deodorant sticks, 100 duffle bags, 100 lap desks, and more than 1,500 pairs of new socks. Other donations included board games, school supplies hygiene items, toys, journals, beanies, beach towels, and umbrellas.

Tribal Citizens, team members, and residents were encouraged to donate items July 7 through August 14. Team members could also donate through a payroll deduction program. Contributions could be dropped off Brightwater Senior Living in Highland, the Highland Chamber of Commerce, and Bear Springs Hotel in Highland. Additionally, a special drive-through collection event was held at San Manuel Village in Highland on August 7 and donations were accepted during games at San Manuel Stadium August 11-14.
