The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians awarded $1 million to Olive Crest Desert Communities for a new Community Involvement Center. The center will be part of Olive Crest's new Coachella Valley Children & Family Resource Center in Palm Desert. It aims to connect specialists to more families who need assistance with food, clothing, and other essentials. Partnering organizations will also deliver vital services, such as workforce development, tutoring, mentoring, financial literacy and legal assistance. This grant is rooted in the Tribe’s giving pillar of reinforcing healthy and resilient communities.
“San Manuel’s gift is truly a gift for generations to come,” said Executive Director of Olive Crest Inland and Desert Communities, Tracy Fitzsimmons. “With their support, we will see even more children and families transformed right here in the Coachella Valley. I am profoundly grateful for their extraordinary commitment to serve families in crisis in our community.”
