San Manuel Donates $1 Million In Honor Of GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is known as the largest day of philanthropic giving every year, occurring the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In honor of the day, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians donated a total of $1 million to six Native-ed organizations and four local nonprofits. These organizations align with the Tribe’s pillars of not only preserving cultural traditions in Indian Country, but also with inspiring the future through education and empowering lives.

This year’s GivingTuesday recipients each received $100,000 from the Tribe:

• Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums
• Center for Native American Youth at Aspen Institute
• Cherish Ministry
• Chinle Planting Hope
• Confederated Tribe and Band of Yakama Nation
• Garcia Center for the Arts
• Native Forward Scholars Fund
• Norton Science and Language Academy
• Spotlight Documentaries Safe Online
• Stronghearts Native Helpline
