Forging Hope Yawa' Award Programs Honor Nonprofit Organizations

Forging Hope 15th Anniversary Recipients

Four nonprofit organizations were presented with the Yawa' award at the 2nd Annual Forging Hope Awards at Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas on April 10 and the 15th Annual Forging Hope Yawa' Awards, held at Yaamava' Theater April 29.

At each event, four organizations were recognized for their dedication in serving communities in ways that fulfill the Tribe's Giving Pillars: Inspiring Our Future Through Education, Empowering Lives, Reinforcing Healthy and Resilient Communities, and Preserving Cultural Traditions and Empowering Indian Country. These organizations embody the time-honored Serrano concept of Yawa' by making a significant impact in their communities. This year's recipients recognized by the San Manuel Gaming Hospitality and Authority at Palms were:

  • Culinary Academy of Las Vegas
  • HELP of Southern Nevada
  • Nevada Legal Services
  • Olive Crest

This year's recipients honored by the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation at Yaamava' were:

  • Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino Native American Land Conservancy
  • Providence St. Mary Medical Center
  • UC Riverside Native American Student
